Asian Institute of Fashion Design nurtures its students to become experts in their own particular field. I have hired students from here to work with me and I wish best of luck to AIFD, its students, faculty and management.

Congratulations to the IQRA University for establishing the Asian Institute of Fashion Design here in Karachi. Over these last many years, the school has made a niche for itself by maintaining its high standard of education. I, myself have had the opportunity of hiring one of its graduates and I was very satisfied with the knowledge and skill of that student. I see the school playing a very important role in the future of our industry as the WTO scenario promises a tough competition in terms of quality, and I think the industry will be looking towards the school for qualified designers to help us improve the design element in our garments. I would like to extend the support of PRGMEA to the school and wish the management well in all the future endeavors.

The fashion scene by the AIFD puts the school definitely at par with the other schools. The previous fashion show by the students was quite spectacular. They had a distinct sense of design and understanding of their work which was reflected well in their pieces.

I would like to congratulate AIFD for making Pakistan a leading contender for fashion flair by providing the right technical and design knowledge to the younger generation and giving them the confidence of being qualified and creative individuals.

With the merging of the MFA arrangement into the WTO regime, the textile and clothing sector in Pakistan has to adapt to new challenges. In a quota-free environment, the survival of textile exporting companies will depend on giving services to the customers, in addition to just manufacturing. Companies will have to provide services relating to distribution, research and development and designing. That is where AIFD, the only institute offering a degree course in Fashion Design in Pakistan, comes in. In the long run, the designers joining the apparel industry will definitely improve the capability of such industries and will help them achieve the growth in the current era.

The business of designer wear and fashion garment manufacturing has now become one of the largest businesses of the world, therefore, it is imperative that Pakistan excels in this field in order to generate more revenue and to walk shoulder to shoulder with the leading countries. I commend AIFD for not only being the leading institute in providing education in the fields of fashion and textile design, but also for introducing highly-skillful and thoroughly-trained graduates in every aspect of their education. I will be looking forward to a successful future of the students of Asian Institute of Fashion Design

I would like to congratulate Iqra University on establishing the Asian Institute of Fashion Design. The Government proposed vision 2000 as a means to improve exports of textiles and garments from Pakistan gives great importance to training of manpower in the industry in order to make the final leap into the value-added sector. The future of the exports from Pakistan lies in the hands of qualified individuals who can grasp changing global trends and execute them locally. The world becoming a global village, predicts a scenario of equal opportunities where latest technology, state-of-the-art machinery and market information will be available to everyone. The deciding factor as to who will sell better will be the quality of visual appeal of the product which is the Design aspects. More and more high fashion designers are venturing into the home textiles as the corporate world is shrinking into a laptop with a good majority working out of their homes. To make it a welcoming environment to work in, a high fashion home textiles market is developing. It will be the responsibility of an institution such as the Asian Institute of Fashion Design to prepare their students to face these new challenges. I wish you to all the success in the future and assure you of my continued support in this field.
